Submission of Late Abstracts

We have had a large response to our call for papers for the conference and thank you to all who have submitted. Abstracts are now going through a review process and speakers will be notified of the outcome on Friday 9th May 2008. Please don’t ask for notification prior to this date as it won’t be available. Your patience is appreciated.

If you have missed the closing date for abstract submission and would like to be considered for a static poster presentation which will be located in the Marketplace please download this form and email it to info@margins2mainstream.com. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Reviewing of abstracts and placement in the Marketplace cannot be guaranteed due to the high number of abstracts already received.

Potential presenters at the conference are invited to submit abstracts of their proposed paper for consideration by the International Scientific Committee. Papers must address at least one of the Conference methodologies and at least one of the determinants as the above matrix diagram suggests. Additionally, abstracts which focus on one of the methodologies only will also be accepted.

The following sessions will require abstracts:
  • Seminar sessions will be 15 minutes long and seminars will feature four presenters. These sessions will be themed to ensure consistency of determinant and methodology so please identify which determinant and methodology your presentation will address. A discussion/question and answer time allocation of five minutes may also be included. Presenters wanting to construct a whole session around the same themes and determinants will be strongly encouraged.
If you wish to submit for an entire session, your four abstracts need to be submitted as one abstract by one person. If you submit four separate abstracts they will not be considered as part of an entire session. The reviewers reserve the right to accept only individual papers, or to place them with other papers in different sessions.
  • Workshops will be interactive and participatory sessions of 40 minute duration. They will involve a small group of specialists providing brief interactive presentations with equally balanced audience participation through a discussion to assist learning. These can take a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Oral Posters - These are visual and talking point presentations of five minute duration which should also address one methodology and one determinant. Whilst your key poster will be on display, your presentation can comprise two PowerPoint slides and handouts.
