To ensure that everyone’s voice is heard at From Margins to Mainstream, VicHealth has partnered with the Office for Youth, Multimedia Victoria, the Inspire Foundation, Student Youth Network (SYN) and youthcentral to engage young people’s participation in the conference. Young people will be able to discuss and provide input on the major themes prior to, during and after the conference, which will input directly to the Charter.

Online forums have been held on the Reach Out! website to discuss the conference themes and what they means to people aged under 25. A series of opinion articles have also been commissioned to encourage discussion and debate by young people around these themes. You can now read these articles on social participation, discrimination and violence.

During the conference, the key points raised in the online forums will be presented in the Charter Plenary by Reach Out! Youth Ambassadors, and SYN will film a round-up of conference events to be shown in the Closing Plenary. This will also be produced into a short segment to be broadcast during the daily current affairs show Panorama on SYN from 4.30 to 5 pm each day.

After the conference all materials, podcasts and articles produced prior to and during the conference will go live on youthcentral, Reach Out!, SYN and Inspire.
